A true princess

Addison might kill me later for this picture but it makes me laugh every time I see it. She will almost always come home and change into one of her dresses but this day, it went with a dance too! This was how she "posed" at the end of her dance...waiting for the applause! Priceless :)

The Saga Continues...

We spoke with the allergist who felt that although her levels were elevated in the areas of milk, egg and nuts, he did not feel it would be enough to warrent us to stop giving her thse items. I am going to take out milk and see if there is any change.

I feel like we are back at square 1. When I got the allergy results I was in a way pleased to have an answer to what was going on. But now, we are starting all over. I happened to have yet another appt with the pedi following her allergy appt b/c her entire body in a rash and a couple of other concerns. They have now ordered a CBC and several other blood tests to check her immunity levels as well as if she is absorbing the medicine she is getting from her vaccines. From the doctors explaination, newborns carry thier mother's immunity until between 4-6 mths. At that point, thier own immunity kicks in and prevents them from being sick. Peyton got her first ear infection at 6 mths and she hasn't been consistently well since. And another strange fact is that Peyton recently had strep and what we think was Roseola AT THE SAME TIME and Addison never even had a slight fever. In no way have I attempted to separate the two and stop the spread of germs. So this may make sense..I am hoping to get the results by Friday afternoon. I just in my gut feel something is going on and I just want answers. I only briefly looked up anything on the Internet regarding Immune Diseases and quickly stopped b/c I am not going to scare myself to death until I know for sure this is what we are dealing with. Peyton is by far a very happy baby but I know she isn't feeling 100%.

I have no clue who is reading this but I guess it just makes me feel better to get it off my chest. I haven't really "talked" to many people about it yet..I just want some answers first!

Milk, Eggs and Nuts

That is the report I got from the nurse today regarding Peyton's bloodwork. She is allergic to milk, eggs and nuts. I can't even begin to process what this actually means. We meet tomorrow morning with an allergist who can hopefully answer the 10 million questions I have at this point. My hope is that she has more of an intolerance than a true life long allergy. We will see what tomorrow brings...

My baby is 1 now!

Happy Birthday sweet baby Pey!

We had a wonderful birthday party today. Roger tried out his new outdoor kitchen while the kids swam in the pool. Plus, Peyton was a rock star with her smash cake. So many of our friends and family helped us celebrate our baby's first birthday. Thanks everyone!!!
But, of course it had to have some drama...Peyton had been feeling crummy off and on over the last couple of days. Considering she had an ear infection last Wednesday, I chalked it up to that and/or teething. Well during her party, her fever kept rising and rising. I kept her close to myself or Gramma, careful not to "infect" any other kids just in case something else was going on. She crashed by the end of the party...
Fast forward a few hours after the party and Peyton's temp reached a max of 105.4 and that was while alternating Tylenol and Motrin! Needless to say, the poor baby spent the night of her first birthday in the Emergency Room of Texas Children's Hospital. And the worst part is we had the MOST INCOMPETENT doctor ever! We received the most expensive dose of Tylenol ($150 copay) and a diagnosis of a bulging ear drum. I thought it was a little odd to have such high fever with an ear infection but the dr assured me it was possible. And, considering Peyton's history of ear problems, I didn't question him and came back home. Here she is in the ER... Although not quite as high as overnight, she continued to have a fever.
So, following the ER docs orders, I made an appt this morning with my Pedi. Peyton's ears look perfect, no sign of infection. The REAL DIAGNOSIS...Strep Throat! Her throat is hot pink and swollen with giant puss pockets. The ER doc never even opened her mouth to look. I am so pissed and frustrated. It was clear when I was there the doc was pretty clueless but to completely overlook so many other possibilities..come on!

I guess it is a good thing Grampa knows people in high places. This will not go unnoticed :)

Easter Pictures for the girls

I got the pictures back and I am very happy with them! I only did the girls b/c we just had all the kids pictures taken in the fall. Also, it is much more fun to dress up the girls...Jordan would have been miserable! And not to mention, they comply much easier at this point :) I ended up with a disc of 146 pictures so picking a few to put up here was really hard! Here are just a few...

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Easter Bunny tonight...I will post pictures of that tomorrow. Happy Easter!

I spoke too soon!

Literally the day after I posted that Peyton is sleeping in again finally, she woke up at 6am. Well, every morning for the last week I have had an early morning wake up call again. I should have NEVER posted anything! I mean seriously, she is almost a year shouldn't she start sleeping later by now! So now I am playing the guessing game...is she cutting teeth, cold, about to start walking, about to drop down to 1 nap or just in a crazy habit! UGGGG..what I wouldn't do to sleep until 7 am!
