Mono, are you serious???

For the past 6 mths or so I have been back and forth to the doctor with Thyroid issues...each month completing bloodwork. Eventhough I started meds to help with the thyroid levels, we still can't get my levels correct. I still have felt fatigued daily. I guess I have just made it part of my daily routine b/c my mom's comment today was "you hide it well." Long story, short version...I missed an appt after my last bloodwork so I never got the results. I went back today for the rescheduled appt and come to find out I had MONO a month ago! And come to think of it, a few months ago, Addi was probably showing symptoms of having it too and I never did anything about it because I thought it was most likely either a virus and/or a growth spurt! Oh well, nothing I can do about it now but I guess it would have been nice to know while it was going on!

On a lighter note...got the girls Easter pics done and they are OH SO ADORABLE! I have only seen the "sneak peek" but they turned out fabulous! I will post them when I get the disc.

Success??? (knock on wood)

Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since Peyton got her tubes. Even better tomorrow marks 2 weeks of restful nights. Since her surgery, Peyton has slept wonderful...not a single restless night or early waking since. Poor thing must have been so miserable prior to this!

She has always been a VERY happy baby but she is now coming close to the PERFECT baby. Don't get me wrong...she is very strong willed and will screach or growl at you in an instant if you make her mad but all in all, I can't complain. I only wish we could have done this sooner especially now that I know it was the root of her poor sleep. So...knock on wood...I think the tubes have worked!!!!

Rodeo Time!

We went to the Rodeo two times this year....both as much fun as the other! We witnessed the birth of a litter of piglets and got to meet a 5 hr old calf. They were all so adorable! Addi's favorite animal was the newly hatched baby chicks.

Here is our annual picture on the giant steer (minus Jordan who is in California). I swear they must use the same poor guy every year. He looks identical to the pictures I have from the last 3 years.

This year at the carnival Addi was able to do a ton of rides. She is actually more daring than I would have thought. This giant slide is proof. It was her choice and she wanted to do it ALONE. She did it 2 yrs ago in Roger's lap but this time she felt she didn't need my help. So I let her go...maybe I should have gone with her????? If you look at the picture it is just at the point where she is losing her balance and flipping over to her belly (not supposed to do this on the slide). She ended at the bottom on her belly with the rug over her entire body. Through the gasps of onlookers, she jumped up, laughed and wanted to go again.

Another shocker is Addi was actually able to do a roller coaster! She chose the last seat which was of course the "roughest" ride with her head slapping from side to side with each turn. Again she had a blast and was ready to do it again. Here is a picture of Addi and her friend Caden in action:

Soccer Star

Addison started soccer this spring at the YMCA. She has 3 friends on her team which makes it even more fun for her (and mommy too!). We had our first practice yesterday before the first big game this weekend. Practice was close to one of the most adorable things I have seen so far...I can only imagine what it will be like on Saturday.

She had a smile on her face the entire time, followed directions extremely well and actually didn't do half bad. About half way through the practice she looks over at gramma and says..."Gramma this is the best soccer game in the whole world!" She loves it and can't wait to go back. I am so happy and proud of my little princess.

Here are a few pictures from her first practice.

Is it meant to be this difficult?

All I can say is WOW! The teenage years are rough. Very rough. The worst part is we are only in the FIRST YEAR! Hormones are flying and attitudes can change in a milisecond. I now have a new respect for my parents and all those out there who have survived this time period in one piece.
