At Peyton's final appt with TCH Immunology the Doc gave me a hard time about giving her Rice milk instead of Soy Milk. She claimed there was just not enough fat in Rice milk for necessary brain development and of course discounted the excessive hormones in Soy milk. Still not ready to move to Soy I decided I would try Goat's milk instead. I had heard mixed results...some say it was great others say they had the same results as with cows milk. I figured it was worth a shot and almost 3 weeks later I am STILL paying for it! It obviously didn't work and it was evident by the end of the 2nd day. She was full of snot and pretty grouchy. I decided to stick with it for a full week just in case it was actually a poorly timed cold but by the end of the week, she was so snotty, waking early, not napping well and becoming increasingly cranky. UGGGG what did I do!!!!
The one good thing is I know FOR SURE she has a milk protein allergy that was causing her to get sick over and over again. The same protein is obviously in Goat's milk because all the same symptoms came flying back. So here I am almost a month later and dealing with a cranky not well rested baby. I briefly tried Soy but she continued to show the same symptoms...the Pedi said he was not at all concerned about the Rice milk and to go back to what works. So...we have been back on Rice milk since Monday but she has still not dried up. I really hope we get back to where we were soon...6am is way too early for ANYONE to be awake!

Sea World Take 2
We decided to venture out to Sea World one last time for the year with Gramma and Granpa. The girls loved all the animals and Peyton even took a 2hr nap in her stroller! Addison got to ride her first real rollercoaster with her daddy. Peyton couldn't take her eyes off of Shamu and thought feeding the dolphins was really neat...although she did want to stick her entire hand in thier mouth! Here are a few pictures:

And I just had to add this...here is Peyton's new "cheese" face. She was TERRIBLE at dinner this night and once the food came she devoured this enitre bowl of spagetti. I guess she was really really hungry because she looks pretty happy now!

First year of Preschool
Addison has officially started Pre-School and she is having a blast! The days are long with no naps(9:30-2:30) so by the time she gets home she is exhausted. From everything I have heard she has a fabulous teacher and so far I have to agree...I have gotten weekly emails about things going on and some even include pictures.
This is one of the pictures I got from her teacher. How cute is this...Addi is in the top right corner.

End of Summer
We are slowly getting back into the swing of things...I feel like I have been moving non stop for the past week.
Jordan has started his first year of high school successfully. Besides being on crutches at a VERY LARGE campus he seems to be happy with his new venture. OUR goal this year is to give him some accountability towards his school. In the past years I have been on top of his school 100%...always making sure assignments were in on time, ensuring he attended tutoring when needed and keeping in constant contact with teachers, counselors, principals etc. We decided this year we really need to back off and try to have Jordan gain more responsability towards his work. He seems ready to take on this new task but I guess only time will tell. We have told him we are backing off 100% but in reality there is no way we can do that...hopefully we can jsut monitor from afar????
Addi has "meet the teacher" tomorrow for her preschool class. It is at the same school as her Mother's Day Out program so I am not expecting any problems. She LOVES her school and is really excited. Her teacher has already emailed us about tomorrow so I like her already :) Plus, from what I hear she is the cream of the crop! Yay for Addi!
Peyton had a follow up at TCH a week ago and they never did find her blood. The immunology department is blaming the lab but who really knows. All I know is we had to draw blood again at our appointment. It has been 10 days since our appt so I am planning on calling tomorrow since I haven't gotten any results yet. And to make matters worse, she is full of nasty yellow snot. I am using the heck out of the saline nose mist in hopes I can prevent an ear infection...only time will tell.
Here are some pics from the last part of our summer

Kid Free Weekend!
We have successfully returned from our kidless vacation and had a BLAST! We ate too much, drank too much, got to be around best friends for 3 straight days, spent too much $ at the outlets and most importantly SLEPT IN!!!! It was perfect! I didn't take a single picture but I know Julie did...hopefully she will pass some on soon and I will add them.
The girls stayed at my parents house. Gramma made sure to keep the girls busy through the whole weekend and even finished it off with Peyton' s first Astro's game. They seem to have had a blast. Thanks so much Gramma and Granpa...we couldn't have done it without you!
Tomorrow is Peyton's follow up with Immunology/Allergy at TCH...keep your fingers crossed they "found" her blood!

lost in transit
Texas Children's called last week with partial results from Peyton's bloodwork. It turns out that the Immunology was sent to one lab and the allergy was sent to another. The Dr had the results of immunology. Everything checked out perfect as far as her immune system goes. She produced all the necessary titers (ability to fight disease) and was cleared to receive her live vaccines. We go back to the Dr on Monday to discuss more in depth their findings but from what was said over the phone, it seems like Peyton might have just had an immature immune system. Great News!!!!
So that leaves the allergy portion of the bloodwork which were not back by the initial phone call. I waited almost a week and called to question why I hadn't heard anything back regarding the results. The same Dr calls back the next day to apologize profusely b/c it seems that thos portion of Peyton's blood has been LOST! They have record of it being sent to the lab but after that nothing. So they have until this Monday to call me with results or we have to go through another blood draw. MY POOR BABY!!!! If I wasn't convinced there was something going on allergy wise and her IgE was not elevated I might pass but I really think I need to get to the bottom of this especially before cold and flu season rolls around.

Gramma's Duck House
This past weekend we went to the house in New Braunfels (AKA Gramma's Duck House) with Roger's family and a few family friends. Roger didn't go because of his new job so momma and the girls went on another mini vacay :)
The first 2 days both of the girls floated the river. Addi got to go down the chutes with her Aunt Cathy and Aunt Indra while Peyton and I walked around to meet them at the bottom. The last day I was lucky enough to leave Peyton with her cousin Kristin and took Addi alone this time. She sat with me the first 2 chutes and the last one I let her go on her own (tied to me)...she LOVED it.
Here are a few pictures from our weekend:

T- 2 days until our "adult vacay" to gramma's duck house. I think I am the most excited to sleep in! (That is pretty sad.) Gramma and Granpa return from China tomorrow and we leave Thursday! Yay for good times with best friends!
