At Peyton's final
appt with
TCH Immunology the Doc gave me a hard time about giving her Rice milk instead of Soy Milk. She claimed there was just not enough fat in Rice milk for necessary brain development
and of course discounted the excessive hormones in Soy milk. Still not ready to move to Soy I decided I would try Goat's milk instead. I had heard mixed results...some say it was great others say they had
the same results as with cows milk. I figured it was worth a shot and almost 3 weeks later I am STILL paying for it! It obviously didn't work
and it was evident by the end of the 2
nd day. She was full of snot and pretty grouchy. I decided to stick with it for a full week just
in case it was actually a poorly timed cold but by the end of the week, she was so snotty, waking early, not napping well and becoming increasingly cranky.
UGGGG what did I do!!!!
The one good thing is I know FOR SURE she has a milk
protein allergy that was causing her to get sick over and over again. The same
protein is obviously in Goat's milk
because all the same symptoms came flying back. So here I am almost a month later and dealing with a cranky not well rested baby. I briefly tried Soy but she continued to show the same symptoms...the
Pedi said he was not at all concerned about the Rice milk and to go back to what works. So...we have been back on Rice milk since Monday but she has still not dried up. I really hope we get back to where we were soon...6am is way too early for ANYONE to be awake!
